Snapweed pollen

Snapweed seeds develop very early in season. When you touch the long slim seed pods seeds fly out like projectiles. The honeybees scramble over the petite flowers for small amounts of pollen.

Long lasting Heather

Posted by blueberrytalk on March 8, 2012

A month ago the bees were gathering nectar and pollen from the Heather blossoms. Today the bees are working the same Heather variety which shows no sign of letting up. This date also marks the first pussywillows with pollen. In the last week we have seen bees high in the cedars gathering pollen.
